      Pov-ray Gallery

I've used Pov-ray for several years. Sometimes I've needed a particular image for some task or other. Other times I've just played with the program to see what I could do. Most of the images I render don't merit keeping around, sometimes one does and then I'll put it up here.

Povray includes a powerfull scene description language. With this language you can develop rather complicated programs, such as a ray-tracer. (Yes, that is a ray-tracer programmed within a ray-tracer.) I used the documentation for that project to write my own simplistic PHP-raytracer.

More typical uses of this programming language would to create objects which can then be placed in multiple locations within a scene or to create an object with an algorithm rather than hand-coding it. The "Tron Tank" model is the only one displayed here which does not take advantage of the features of this programming language.

five intersecting tetrahedra Five Intersecting Tetrahedra. Inspired by the origami model of the figure.
the game of terrace A game called Terrace. Rather fun, but not well known.
the game of Nine Man's Morris An ancient game I learned as "Nine Man's Morris", undoubtably it has many other names.
the game of Go The game of Go.
Tron Tank A Tron tank with very bad coloration.
Menger sponge animation The menger sponge, from order 0 to order 5.
