Basis of the Game |
|
This game is based off of the movie TRON, from the scene in which Tron is battling against other programs with flying discs under the watchful eye of Sark and the MCP. It was originally developed by a few students over at Cornell University and has been spreading ever since. (Their name for the game was/is "Tron" but "Deadly Disks" seemed more appropriate when was writing this page.)

Rules |
|
Each player must have their own frisbee. A game of three or four players is fun, but any number is possible. (except one, which wouldn't make sense anyway...)
Movement while holding a frisbee is not permitted. Intentional physical contact between players is not permitted. Violation of these resrictions entails removal from the current round of play.
Malicious intent to harm other players is not permitted. The chances of bruises, scrapes, and other slight injuries are already high enough due to the nature of the game. (Besides, if you intentionally harm another player, they will more likely than not refuse to play with you in the future.)
Two placement throws are allowed before an attack must be made. A placement throw is when a frisbee is thrown so that the owner can move from their current position. (to remove themselves from danger or to gain an attack position.) An attack throw is when a frisbee is thrown with intent to hit another player and remove them from the round. After an attack throw is attempted two placement throws are again allowed before the next attack throw.
A person is tagged out of a round when they are hit by or otherwise touch another person's frisbee.
A player can use their frisbee to deflect another player's attack throw.
If a person's frisbee lands out of bounds, they are given a free placement throw to return it within bounds. If later in the round they again throw their frisbee out of bounds, they are dead for the round. (boundries are set by players at beginning of game.)
If a person's frisbee lands within ten feet of another frisbee, they are given a free placement throw to put their frisbee further than ten feet away from that frisbee. (the minimum distance between frisbees can be varied for various dificulty levels.)
Whenever someone not participating in the game enters the playing area, the game is stopped until the person has left the playing area. (safety first, fun second.)
The winner of each round is the last person left in the round.
Score can be kept or not. If so, a point is awarded to the winner of each round and the player with the most points when everyone agrees to end the game is the game winner.
